Food Projects

4 million children die annually in sub-Saharan Africa. Fifty five percent of those deaths are attributable to malnutrition. 1 out of 3 children there are underweight, while 2 out of 5 are stunted in their growth. Additional millions of people in Africa are threatened not simply with malnutrition, but with famine and starvation. This is due to ongoing droughts in some places, and to civil wars and genocides that destroy crops and displace large populations in others. Recent spikes in the prices of staple foods have only exacerbated the food problems for Africa’s poor.

African Leadership has formed both temporary and long-term strategic project partnerships with churches and church leaders in Africa, enabling them to extend God’s grace to their communities and villages by providing emergency food supplies, agricultural equipment and training, and feeing programs for orphans and other at-risk populations. Because there are so many hungry in Africa, and frequent food shortages in various locations, new project partnerships aimed at meeting food and nutrition needs for Africa remain a vital priority for African Leadership.
