Kitui Orphans

Located in the southern part of Kenya, Kitui is one of the country’s poorest regions. In this region, African Leadership currently supports 21 orphans who have lost both of their parents to HIV/AIDS. These orphans are cared for by extended families, whose meager resources barely provide enough for their immediate families, much less for these orphans. Through a network of churches and lay leaders in the area, African Leadership assists these orphans and extended families by providing food, school fees, uniforms, shoes, medical care, and a social worker who assists these families and assures that the orphans receive proper care.

Proposal

Funds are need to operate this orphan care program, expand the program to 50 orphans, provide a college scholarship fund for deserving members, provide seed capital for self-sustenance projects (e.g. a borehole), and possibly assist in the construction of an orphan dormitory in the future.
