Water Projects

Half of Africa’s population is stricken with water-related diseases such as cholera and infant diarrhea. 300 million Africans do not have access to enough clean water to meet basic cooking, drinking and sanitation needs. Whereas the average American family uses hundreds of gallons of water per day, a rural African family will use only between 4 and 9 gallons. Because Africa’s poor frequently have no access to convenient water supplies, they must either painstakingly gather rainwater in cans, or travel miles on foot to gather their water, sometimes standing in lines for hours—and even then the water they get is often unsanitary and dangerous. Ability to grow crops is also severely limited by the lack of accessible water.

Because this dire need affects so many millions, African Leadership continues to enter into water-related project partnerships with African churches, church leaders, and ministries. With our assistance such leaders spearhead the effort to dig wells and bring an ongoing source of clean, accessible, life-giving water to their communities and villages-all in the name of the one who is the water of life.
